Rental Terms

This agreement outlines important terms, conditions, insurance details, and associated charges, as well as your obligations during the rental period. In case of discrepancies, the Rental Agreement will take priority over these Terms.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire Cannock, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for those under 25. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration stated in the Rental Agreement. Customers must present valid identification and proof of current address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Cannock office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT, where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges applied as necessary. Please return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as at collection; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra charges, so contact us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You will be liable for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Policies
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. For comprehensive details on coverage and excess amounts, please refer to your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to mitigate your financial liability; reviewing these is advisable. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you opt for extra insurance. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise terms, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional fees.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle usage:
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any dangerous maneuvers. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Vehicles must be used for their intended purposes only and within designated passenger or weight limits. Driving outside the agreed geographical areas without prior approval is also prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Cannock will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount you paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Local Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in English and Welsh courts.
