Car Hire Agreement
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines key terms, conditions, insurance information, associated charges, and your obligations for the rental period. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Cannock, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although specific vehicle types may have different age limits, with potential extra fees for those under 25. A valid full driving license, appropriate for the vehicle category, is required, along with proof of current address and identification. Valid payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, as well as any additional requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or at our Cannock office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. Prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed through trusted payment systems.
4. Vehicle Pick-Up and Drop-Off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required to identify any pre-existing damage. It is important to report such damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was collected, considering normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. The vehicle must also be returned with the same fuel level as received; otherwise, refueling charges will apply. Late returns may incur extra fees, so please inform us promptly if you anticipate a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that arise during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Details
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. You can find comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to help limit your financial exposure. It is beneficial to review these options closely. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless you opt for additional coverage. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance provisions.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the booking type and the notice period provided. For specific information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rented Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities, including racing or off-roading. Engaging in hazardous practices or transporting dangerous materials is prohibited. Sub-leasing or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose, and it is important to adhere to passenger and weight limits. Operating the vehicle outside of agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Cannock will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will be capped at the rental amount you paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
9. Local Legislation
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
10. Terms Update Notice
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
